ck 20 or tim the tool mans lk3054xs

have been looking around for about a month and have like what i see for the money in kioti. I have 5 acers with about 1 mile of drive way. my parent live next door with 80 acers but have a 75 hp deere. my in laws live 20 miles away and have 10 aceres that need leveled, seeded and moved. i already have a 3500 lb trailer that will probably be ok with dk 20 but knot the 3054. i am about 6 month away from building a house so i m considering a backhoe. i was all set to get 3054 with front loaded when i thought i could get ck20 with front loaded and back hoe for a little over 1k more.

dont know if i will ever need extra power (larger mower deck, larger box blade, and extra hydrolick power) but would hate to buy something to small.

though worrys were over once you decided on an animal but just dont know which woul be better and this is a big investment for me /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.

My advice would be to buy the size tractor that you need ,not the one that you think you can afford. I was going to buy a DK35 because of being more affordable over the DK45. But after doing some seat time on the DK45 ,I decided that was really the size tractor I needed. Remember you may own this tractor the rest of your life. Get the one that you want. After you purchase it you will be glad that you did.

As a point of reference, I went and did a deal on a CK20HST with FEL and BH, and then afterwards the dealer showed me an LK3054 and I drove it. The LK3054 with a bigger 60" Rhino FEL and the same Rhino 65A backhoe I was going to get on the CK20HST was about $2k more. That was for a previous generation LK3054, not the LK3054XS. I could have put on a bigger BH, but I went with the same one to control the costs. I don't know if you were looking at the CK20 gear or HST - compared to the CK20 gear model the LK3054XS has a shuttle shift (not synchro) and a live PTO, as well as being bigger. It is a tough choice - they are obviously quite different tractors, both very nice. I am very happy with my choice, although it may work out differently for you.

You mention a mower deck - keep in mind that the LK3054XS does not have a mid PTO so you can't run a mid mount mower. On the other hand if you get a BH on the CK20, it will be subframe mounted which prevents you from having a MMM anyway. Personally, I would take the LK3054XS over a gear CK20 based on the trans driven PTO, but the CK20HST changes that.
