Spent the week, here in Pa, talking on phone, leaving messages, shopping around and visiting the local dealers in area. Kubota, Mahindra, Bobcat & Kioti. I would have liked to have one of each but it came down $$$ to the Bobcat CT 225 or the Kioti CK 27 HST. The local dealers were great. I had for trade a 2007 CK 25 that I purchased from my local Kioti Dealer the first time. Since he knew me, HE was anxious to keep me quiet and from disturbing the other customers.:D As usual he took good care of me. Good trade in allowance, cash discount, A FEL & QA plow, set of rear chains, free delivery, 50 hr service provision, etc. 20K without trade before serious negotiations.

Delivery expected in a week or so when QA plow arrives at dealership. Must admit that the Bobcat & Kioti, or Kioti & Bobcat are a tough act to follow. Just a thought. Thank you all for this Great Forum and for being there to offer help an advice for all when needed. KKioti

I know you are happy to have the deal done. I have enjoyed my CK30, just need more hours at home in the daylight, and some dry dirt. Just curious, how many hours did you have on the ck25, and why would the dealer want to keep you quiet?

Reviewed your pics, Derek, Nice unit! One of the reasons I traded was that the CK 25 was a Shuttle shift. I surmised that the HST would be more user friendly for this older operator for snow plowing, loader & leveling work, & hopefully when it comes time to enter the woods again for firewood.

The CK 25 had AG tires with heavy chains I wanted for doing above chores. Dealer indicated that the R-4s should be satisfactory, but I got chains anyway. If not he will replace tires for me as part of deal. We'll see. The CK 25 had enough HP to do everything I wanted it to do. Kioti does not make the CK 25 anymore so the CH 27 HST got the job.

After looking at your photos I can see a few amenities that I will have to consider. :) Thanks for posting. KKioti

You might want those Ag tires back. If you get in muddy areas while firewood hunting, the R4 tires will pack up with mud very easily. As far as snow, my R4 tires on my CK30hst work good for the first part of Winter when the ground is still warm and the snow is soft underneath. Once the cold sets in and the ground is froze, they slip much easier than Ag on hard pack and icy areas. I can only compare to my previous tractor with Ag tires. I run chains on all four of my tires tires but then I may be pushing a foot or more of snow at times.
Have fun with the new toy. HST is user friendly.

The CK 25 was a shuttle shift & AG tires had about 260 hrs. Purchased it in Jun 2007 for about 16,300 and it still had some warranty time left. Good sturdy Tractor that did all I wanted it to do. Being a little older I surmised that a HST with a QA might be a better way to go. We'll see?

If you will tell me about your CK 30? Year, Hours, Transmission, Tires and What you use it for? If you prefer to send PM that will be satisfactory. Dealer said that the CK 30 HST would be about $1,000 more than CK 27. Hope this helps? :) KKioti

Thank's for your note. It's all the above situations and I've had some reservations about the R4 even with chains. So you're observations and experience is appreciated. Would like to cover the worst case scenario that I may find myself in. Just curious, what was your previous tractor? KKioti

I have enjoyed the CK30. Bought it last October at 300 hrs and it is about ready for 400 hour service. Shuttle transmission with R4 tires I think. I grew up on a farm and these tires do not look like what we had then, and they DO attract mud.

I have used the tractor to mow pasture land, move downed trees, pile and haul top soil, impress the grandsons, move dirt (aka mud this year), smooth driveway, etc. I posted several projects that I will be working on in the following posts:

Excellent photos. Looks like you're giving your Kioti plenty projects to do, or is it visa versa? Not only that but you're actually finishing what you start. :) I have to get better at that. Hopefully you won't wear out before the machine does. Nice job - Nice Tractor. Kkioti

The old girl was a 1948 Ford 8N. Rear wheel drive only and had to use the brakes to kick power back and forth to each wheel. It had no diff lock. I had 12.4-28 Firestone 22.5 degree Ag tires on the rear. They would bite in slop and mud like little shovels. The Ag rubber is also softer than R4 tires and that would help some in the Winter until I needed the chains. If you think you will be getting into some pretty sloppy woods stuff while firewood hunting, you may want the dealer just to change out the tires before you get it delivered. R4 tires with chains aren't as good as a good set of Ag tires. Just my opinion! If it's just snow plowing that's the worst, then chains on the R4s will do fine.
