The old girl was a 1948 Ford 8N. Rear wheel drive only and had to use the brakes to kick power back and forth to each wheel. It had no diff lock. I had 12.4-28 Firestone 22.5 degree Ag tires on the rear. They would bite in slop and mud like little shovels. The Ag rubber is also softer than R4 tires and that would help some in the Winter until I needed the chains. If you think you will be getting into some pretty sloppy woods stuff while firewood hunting, you may want the dealer just to change out the tires before you get it delivered. R4 tires with chains aren't as good as a good set of Ag tires. Just my opinion! If it's just snow plowing that's the worst, then chains on the R4s will do fine.

When I plow have about a mile to plow. Over the Winters I've used a MF Pony - MF 30 - then a Ford 800 all with AG & chains. The 27 will come with rear chains and I plan to shop around and get a set of 2 or 4 link cross chains for the front. I hope to start getting wood in the Spring. Then again in Fall if I don't get it all in then. Thanks for your posts. You've helped a lot. Have a nice day.
