CK20 filter replacement

Boy I feel stupid. VictorW already answered my question about the front axle oil above -- it probably was HST oil and that sounds standard.

Now just value your guys thoughts on the HST overfill situation.

If I remember right, my hydro oil check stick is about 7-8 inches long. The two lines on the stick (low to high level) are at the bottom of the stick. If your tractor is spitting out the hydro oil from the check tube, you definately have to much and I would drain some. I try to keep mine at the high mark but not over. Instead of pulling the big main drain plug, I'd try one of the smaller ones from the axle so you don't lose more than wanted.

Your description of hydro oil check stick is just like mine -- probably the same.
I'll try to pull one of the small plugs and get rid of another 1/2 quart or so this weekend.
I've got some left since we bought 6 gallons I can always top off if I let too much out.

Your service manual should tell you what oil to use in front axle.
To check the hydraulic oil set the loader and 3-point down to the ground and engine off. Fill to top notch and no more!!
While the tractor is in warranty use Kioti filters!!

Front axle takes SAE 90 weight gear oil according to manual -- just thought it was interesting it can have hydraulic oil in there from factory or whatever. I'm cool w/ that.
I will fix the HST oil level this weekend -- should be easy.

The tractor was bought brand new in 2006 w/ a manufacture date of a year or two prior in Korea so 8 years old and out of warranty (almost 10 years since time it was manufactured)
it has been meticulously maintained and only sees genuine Kioti filters bought from Kioti dealer (I currently use Rob Bassett from Twin state tractor -- they put the filter kit of 5 filters together for me).

Meant to mention with a simple strap wrench (looks like a seat belt w/ square tube you put a ratchet on -- gets lot of leverage and cheap from tractor supply) we had no problem getting filters off -- the machine has had all filters changed per normal maintenance schedule.

Hey All-

Had a minor leak and thought it was the black hydraulic/HST filter -- this past weekend I drained w/ one of the small plugs (not the one mentioned below) enough to get the oil level perfect. Cleaned everything to help isolate leak. Machine still running perfect. Cleaned garage floor Saturday before leaving for family Easter stuff.

Came home tonight and figured out the leak -- at the rear are smaller low point drain plugs I believe are the same. The one closest to black hydraulic/hst filter is missing it's washer / seal.

In looking at my parts manual it looks like the Kioti part # 04717-01000 listed on the CK20H Transmission case group. The plug part # is 06331-35010 which is fine.

Was hoping a dealer could send me 3 x part # 04717-01000 or the right number if I'm wrong in a simple envelope so I have a couple spares.
Probably dropped into pan when we were changing and got lost or was lost all along from last service.

OR -- if it is a standard seal (metric?) let me know size and what it's made out of and I'll get one locally... don't mind just getting Kioti parts sent in an envelope as its not a rush to fix and I'll know I have the right thing.

I thought I read somewhere that Twin State Tractor might be gone again? Anyone know if Rob Bassett is still at any Kioti dealer -- I'd prefer to purchase from them and I know they ship. I have no dealers near me anymore

I'm aware of Orchard Hill sales too (closest to me on Kioti.com) and can call them w/ part # or have them figure it out.

I'm psyched it wasn't a filter leak, all levels of everything are perfect now, and after this last thing I'll be set for a long time.
I do know the tractor better now after doing all of this. Mower deck maintenance is up next (I've always done that myself) and bring on spring projects!

It probably a metric size but there is no pressure in the case to worry about. Rubber would be a little to soft. If there was some way to take out the plug and visit your local auto parts store, I bet they could size one up for you or pick up some gasket material and cut your own.
