I thought about that, but was worried about the fluid exiting the heater box forcing into the bypass hose and sitting there, leaving that piece of hose attaching the two valves full off fluid.

Yes, it would be just a dead end line under pressure. It wouldn't even matter which side of the heater core you put the 3 way valve.

I would like to install this valve and will take pictures for on line.

What again is the concensus on installation? I welcome advice. If anyone needs advice on blueberries...that I can give.

Thanks.

Pray tell, why do you wear a pistol while working on a blueberry farm? To shoot any intruding raspberries?? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif )</font>
Seriously though...it is open season on a blueberry farm for some beasts or fowl. I prefer not to specify but some examples are the three woodchucks that set up residence in the middle of the raspberry row, any and all porcupines, any eastern blacksnakes, and if I feel lucky and accurate...any flying queen bee wasps /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey congrats on your 100th post /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. You're not kidding about those queen wasps! On Memorial Day weekend we had one come out of he overhead a/c unit inside my trailer. Thought about using the .38 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but settled for the Leatherman instead.

Actually it would, it needs to go on the hose that feeds the coolant into the heater box. If you put it on the return hose, than you will still be circulating through the heater box. I still may just put one valve on the side that feeds into the box and just a "T" style fitting on the other hose with a crossover bypass connecting them.

I thought the 3 way valve acts to have a single always open leg and then switches between the two other legs. One or the other. As long as the always open leg points towards the engine then it doesn't matter which side of the heater core you put it, you won't get flow of hot water through the heater core.
