Re: CK20 or CK25 for my \"to be\" horse farm?

Welcome aboard ninermac.

I bought a CK20 early last year. 5 months later bought a 10.5 arce horse property, with horse ring too. I love spending time in my 20 but I decided to upgrade to a 30. Though the 20 is capable of doing everything I need, with a tractor that is, there are other things you need or want to get done. So to make more time for those other things I decided a 30 would be better.

There were 4 primary reasons: 1) I could operate larger attachments. For example, a 72" cutter or mower gets the job done a lot faster than a 48". 2) I am getting 50% more HP for much less than 50% more $$$ . That is a really great value for my investment. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif 3) Because of the extra HP and larger attachements it will be a lot less wear and tear on the equipment. 4) The cup holder.

Get it and enjoy it.

Personally I see no need for a CK25 because it is the same size as the CK30, so you are moving extra weight with less power. Seems to me the logical choice would then be either a CK20 or a CK30. As others have outlined, I would opt for the CK30. You end up with the same size frame as the 25 but with the power to utilize the frame size. You have enough property that you won't find yourself over powered, in fact you'd likely find yourself underpowered with the CK20 on your acreage.
