John, I'm not ganging up on you here. I agree that you are a valuable member of the TBN community. Whenever you make a comparison between the subCUT's and compacts you bring up the clearance issue (as do most others), and rightfully so. On the other hand, if there's reduced clearance due to the subframe, let that info be known too. I don't read these comments thinking there's any bad intent behind them. It's just that the more info a person has, the better. Now. About that Kumbaya thing ...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You make a good point. I suppose I don't because people sometimes tend to think that means the clearance is gone forever, which is not the case, and it's been well stated many times on the forum. New people should also be doing searches and reading all they can about the models in which they have an interest. The clearance on the Kioti is only reduced while the backhoe is on, but on the BX, is always lower. This is not a slight to the BX, just a fact. For someone who wants to dig around in the trees, this may be an issue. I don't know anyone who keeps his/her backhoe on all the time, and usually it's for specific jobs where clearance isn't always an issue.

John I won't disagree with that statement, but I think many new people don't know what they want and don't know what is available. And while sometimes it is tiring answering the SAME question time and time again, it is just the realitiy of these types of forums. Go and do a search to see how many times I have posted replies to the age old question about using a sub-soiler as a cable layer. Maybe close to a dozen times in the past year? New people come on board and they just don't know. And even people who have been around for a while honestly are confused about brands or are trying to figure things out in their own minds. Heck, I post questions all the time asking for help. I don't see any antagonism or hidden agenda on "cag"s part at all, I do see that he is really tossed up on different features and is trying to figure out what is best. I think you might have over reacted to what really seems like a legitimate question.

And by the way, I don't know about how the Woods backhoe mounts and that it doesn't eliminate ground clearance so that is new to me, but you said it is well documented. I guess, just like "cag," I missed it.

Honestly, if I was a moderator (not something I would want to be) I would have probably deleted a couple of the posts . . . or at least sent some warnings. You and I have actually been getting along pretty well lately and I offer this only as constructive observation. I'm not trying to start anything. But while I think people should use the search function more often, I suspect that unless they know what to search for, their searches may end up turing up more information that they don't want than is useful.

Very astute, Bob! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

For the record, and only for my part, I HAVE been spending a good part of my day watching this thread.

I would have to say that the participants are doing a good job at maintaining control and not crossing the line - yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've considered a couple of times the addition of a cautionary post. But I'm a believer, in as much as possible, letting the participants control things. And like I said, I haven't felt that the lines have been crossed yet.

Let's hope they aren't in the future. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Bob, you're right about a lot of it, but you're not reading the posts well enough. I'm talking about the clearance lost when the CK30 backhoe is on, not the Woods backhoe. That is what cag asked about. It is well documented, and cag has been in on those threads in the past. Someone else posted about the Woods.
Had cag simply said, "The clearance is less when the backhoe is on," I wouldn't have had a problem with it. You have to remember that I've been a psychiatric nurse most of my career, and I recognize the passive aggression in asking me the question the WAY he did instead of just stating what he already knows to be true. When the backhoe is on, there is less clearance, when it's off, it has a lot of clearance.
There's no need for anyone not to just post what they already know rather than try to put someone else on the spot, or try to make it out as though I was trying NOT to mention the clearance loss. It simply wasn't like that. I didn't mention it, because it's not an issue for me, and most of the time, I don't have the backhoe on. I doubt most people would, unless using it. I think you're right though, I over reacted. I have a life too, and sometimes it gets tedious.

First off I'm glad to see we haven't been deleted... Thank's for all the reply regarding these issues.. It's been mention I been here on TBN a while, and even do I haven't chose a particular brand of tractor yet I can honestly say that all brand in my view are reliable...Also being around for a while I found it is difficult to point out suggestion, question, or concern in the kioti forum without running the chance of insulting you John. As you know this happen before check the archives I believe it was with the back order issue and hst issues and even back then you were questioning me on what I was up to...Man if I'm going to make a big investment like a tractor and I think that the particular brand I'm looking at may have issues, believe me I'll ask the question... Theres no conspiracy no master plan to destroy the kioti brand I just want knowledge.. I'm not sick mentally and I don't need a psychiatric evaluation for my post or reply's and if I ask a question that as already been answered it is not done purposely. Finally I don't believe in bringing a man down publicly but that's ok I been to the wood shed before, you cross the line John, you apologize end of story, unless you want to carry on with this...cag

Okay guys, it seems that each of you has gotten it your chest now. Lets leave it at that. Happy hunting as it can be a very difficult decision to make.

I guess now we can get back to less stressful topics like Hydro vs. gear, which color is best, synthetic vs. dino oil, you know, the regular stuff. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
