CK25 FEL not strong as expected

Island is definately correct about the cutting edge, I added a cutting edge to the bottom of my bucket and C-channel to the top, want my bucket as stiff as possible, once you bend the bottom edge, forget about cleaning up material from a driveway or other smooth surface.

Your right island,thats the point.
Being, knowing how to use any tool and it capabilites.

Many don't,many this is first machine that has a blade or bucket or etc, that they have ever been on,they see that loader and there you go.

I know they are tough, but its still a loader, not a dozer, and its still a loader on a small non industrial type machine.

And its like any thing else,if you got it,you're going to use it,and sometimes over use it,and generally that works out,but if you don't keep in mind that it is just a loader on a little tractor and not a dozer,than...

As a former owner of a Deere dozer and case track loader, there is absolutely no doubt that there is a huge difference between a small (in my book under 7-8K lb) tractor and a commercial grade machine. I've never owned a commercial (JD 110 or the like, much less full size ford) backhoe, looked at a couple of older used machines and came close, but from the ones I've tested and looked at, I think the same comment applies to backhoes.

The commercial machines are just plain built different and capable of performing tasks in a different way than a non-commercial machine.

In no way dismissing our non-commercial duty machines, but the capabilities are just different, really different tools.

With that said, I'm heading out today to dig out a monster stump with my backhoe, commercial machine (15-20 minutes) me, 1/2 day.

a backhoe on these little tractors [if mounted right] is made to be a backhoe, light duty, but still it is made for digging.

A fel,is made for doing loader type work, not as a dozer,so my point is,[I forgot!]

..... don't use a loader as a dozer. :)

I mostly agree with Greenmule. However it is safe to use the FEL to push so long as you avoid shock loads, keep the object centered to avoid twisting the loader arms and that you consider the forces on the bucket.

Dozers work with grunt force. CUTs need to take advantage of leverage, for example by pushing high on a tree rather than at the base. Using a boxblade is another way to safely emulate dozer dirt moving functions. Although the dozer capabilities of CUTs is limited they are still versatile enough to substitute safely for small "dozer" jobs.
