It seems to me that these CK tractors are quite the bargain. Kubota dealer can't really come close on capability for the price. Looking at 14800 for a ck25 hydro with the loader. Dunno how much more the ck30 is, I'm going to check on that.

How is resale value on Kiotis?

I hate to ask, but are you planning on selling the tractor right away? Regardless of resale value of ANY brand, if you only keep it for a short time, you're going to be competing with new models that wouldn't cost a whole lot more, and maybe 0% financing offers that would make your nearly new tractor less attractive.
I would say that it depends on where you're located, and how well the brand does in your area. A Kubota in one region, where they're popular, will bring more than a JD sometimes in the used, and JD in other areas where they are popular.
If you keep most any tractor for a number of years, you should get a pretty good resale unless the brand just isn't known in your area. People tend to go for what they know. Doesn't make it right, but that's the way it is.
Generally, the Kioti CK30 is not a lot more than the CK25 and they are exactly the same tractor frame and features.
I've tried both and they're both wonderful tractors. John

Hi Curt,
Are you at the Chelsea near Brighton? Both sets of my grandparents had cottages at a place called Burroghs Farms on Crooked Lake (Big) there was a store nearby, closer than going all the way to brighton, called the Chelsea store. went squirrell hunting in the woods behind. I was back there a few years ago, it is a nice subdivision now... Just saw where you were and thought I'd ask. this is probably boring to the others monitoring this board...Anyway welcome to TBN!

As far as selling, there's a possibliity I'd decide to sell it in 3 years when my daughter goes to college, and we may cut back on the number of horses we own.

bluechip, yeap, Brighton is a bit northeast of here.

I think one of the most important things to look out for when purchasing a new tractor is to get it right the first time. I say this based on personal experience. As KiotiJohn said there is not a lot of difference (in most cases) price wise between the CK30 and the CK25. It is however very costly to realize that you under sized the tractor and need to replace it with a larger machine.
I would also think that if you were to sell it in the future, the CK30 would have a higher resale than the less powerful CK25. Maybe not but it would seem so. Also be aware that they are essentially the same tractor with engines of different HP ratings.
So, based, on a very costly experience, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif if you can afford it, go with the larger CK30. It never hurts to have a little HP in reserve but it sure is expensive to find you don't have enough. (Wished I had found this forum BEFORE I purchased my first tractor.) However both of these tractors are very well built and I have never asked my CK30HST to do anything it has not been able to do. Certainly in my case I have never found the HST to be lacking in any way.
Good luck in your purchasing experience.

Al

I would totally agree with VT_Kioti. If you can figure out any way to swing the extra money, the CK30 is going to be the better machine. In fact it is an excellent machine. Also consider that the PTO hp of the CK25 will limit the size of any PTO powered implements. In fact you may find that you will have a hard time powering some implements that will cover your rear track width. I am a long time critic of the CK25 because of its size/PTO hp/weight ratio, so consider the source of the criticisms.

Well, the CK30 is only $950 more, so I'd definitely swing that, financing it anyhow.

It all boils down to how big is big enough. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif CK30Hst with the loader is coming in at 15,600, while the other I'm considering, a Deere 4310 hydro w/430 loader is coming out aat 19,600.

The deere is a bit more tractor, but not 4k more. I could knock about 1k off that coing with the powrReverser.

If you were going that route to save 1K on the JD couldn't you also save around the same amount by going with the sycro-shuttle on the CK 30 ?

Is the name Deere worth $4,000.00 more; or even $2,000.00?? I would think not. G

Deere's tractor for an extra $4000 seems a bit stiff to me. For the extra $4000 you get about a 9% boost in horsepower and some added capacity in the front end loader. I think it is too much to pay for the added benefit unless you really need that little bit of extra power at the PTO, and if you do, and need HST, I think you might be better off with a Kubota L3130, it will be in between in price, have greater capacity all the way around, and give you the little HP boost that the Deere offers.
