thanks 7mm for the chart...i don't think the diff between a 72" and a 60 inch is that much really..anybody think differently? like you said, just takes a bit longer to do the work... what is the cause of your frustration with the ph digger? just goes slow? i want mine for building foundation piers more than fences...though they might come into play at some point too...john.

72" will cover your tracks, 60" will likely leave impressions.
I'd be scared to death of a pto post hole digger after viewing those morbid tractor accident photos somewhere on this site.
That screw will NOT stop if you or your clothes get caught up in it. Just my 3.5 cents.

My 60" boxblade covers the CK30's tracks using industrial tires. Just barely though.

"buyerjohn"-CK25/30 models are 60"wide

72" difference...it is and it isn't on some implements. On a grader blade I'd want 72" and not 60". I have used a 72" on mine and where you want those extra 12" is when you angle the blade diagonally behind you. The 72" will cover your tracks the 60" will not because of the angle set behind the tractor is now shortned the full width of 60". Same goes for a Landscape Rake.

However I'd heed "Highbeam" experience about a 60" box blade being a good size for the CK30. I have no experience with a box blade. I'd bet you'd run out of traction before you would lug the motor down though. You've got to do some hateful stuff to stop that motor with the driveline hooked up running at 540pto. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Frustration with the PHD, well it's not really the PHD,It does it's job, and fairly quickly depending on the soil and who is guiding the auger on the other end. My problem is setting posts in the hole, packing them back with Virginia clay and..etc. well I guess I went into too much detail. I guess building the fence part is my frustration and not the PHD or tractor. So if you are planning to use it for foundation piers, it works great for that. I dug 10 over the weekend for footers for my barn. See pic attached
