CK2510-CK27

Another reason to select a ck2510 over the ck 27, CK30 or ck35 is height of ROPS bar. If you are STORING your your tractor in a garage with 8' garage door then you better stick with the 2510. Those 27's and up won't cleAR THE HEADER.

It is his R-4 tires.
They suck in snow/ice.
Without chains my DK 35 with R-4 tires was helpless in snow.
I run 4 link ladder chains on all 4 for snow plowing and it goes great.

Were you running any weight on the 3 point without the chains?

A 7' back blade and loaded rear tires.

I had loaded tires with i)no weight ii)600 lb snow blower iii)1000 lb backhoe. They were all scary. The snowblower seemed best and I think the backhoe is so heavy it actually makes the 4WD ineffective by lightening the front end too much. I agree with Vince, it's got to be the tires. R4's are tough and wide/stable. But, if I had it to do again, I'd have R1's (even if not that much better in the snow). I want HDAPs rated for 8000 lb tractors!

To the OP, I too was interested in the CK2510...until I learned that I couldn't fit a MMM. I ended up purchasing a CS2410 and I have no regrets. I haven't found a situation yet where I didn't have enough machine. I would suggest a test ride at a dealer. A good dealer will allow you to have the test ride on your property so you can get first hand experience with the machine.

Both are very close in specs, but the CS can take a MMM. The CK could take a 3PT mower, but it will tear up the lawn, even I suspect with turf tires. If you get a bigger tractor for mowing, it will not be the optimum setup for high traction work. The CK series are some of the heaviest tractors in the class. As mentioned, optimum solution is 2 machines, one for mowing, one for traction based tractor work.

My CK35 with Cab fits in an 8' door with about 3 inch to spare. Maybe the ROPs are higher than a Cab???

Could be tires too, my dealer remarked that the CK35 with ags was about 4-5 inches taller.

I get the same clearance with just the roll bar. Fits, but make sure the door is all the way up past the top plate.

CK27 with R4s w/no cab just ROPS. Does not fit, not even close. Haven't hit it yet, but only because the people watching me keep yelling at me to put the ROPS down!
