Tractor
Kioti CK2510hst
Hello all, I'm trying to decide between these two tractors. I've searched for quite a while on this site and have finally decided that one of these two tractors will fit my needs the best.
I have 5 acres and also do some sideline yard work, so I want a tractor that can get around easy. I will be mostly using the tractor for boxblade, post hole auger, front loader work and would like to have a grapple setup.
They are both great tractors from what I have read, but I'm trying to get some opinions to sway my decision :)
My local Kubota dealer quoted me $17,200 for the B2650H with SSQA bucket and I got a quote from a Kioti dealer which is about 1.5hrs from me for $14,800 on the CK2510H. I know the Kioti doesn't have SSQA but I've seen on Everything Attachments where you can convert it. And like I said I would like either setup to have 3rd function for a grapple.
I know they both have pros and cons(2range vs 3 range hst, weight, dealer location). This will be my first tractor so I'd like to make a wise decision.

Also has anyone on here dealt with Hurst Equipment in Norman Park GA? There are two Kioti dealers about 1.5 hrs from me, but Hurst Equipment is open on Saturdays where the other dealer is not. Would like to be able to take the tractor in on my day off should anything ever happen to it.

Thanks for any replies, Great Site and a lot of helpful information!

Either would be a good tractor, these were the 2 I was down to before I picked the 2650. For me it came down to the dealer. Prices were pretty much the same after adding in attachments I was going to get. The owner of the kubota dealer came out and talked with me and answered questions until his sales guy was available, while at the kioti dealer I just waited. Kubota has a factory 3rd function while the kioti doesnt. Kioti was going to use wrlong grapple and diverter was going to be somewere in the 3300 range for it, pin on.

I think between these two tractors I prefer the Kubota. But the Closer Kioti model would have been the ck27/30. It has been replaced by the ck3510. If you were comparing the b2650 to the ck 30 or the new ck3510 then I would opt for the kioti.

I'd be desperate before I'd by a tractor for digging and grading without three range! With the Quick attach and front remotes it makes it easy to see when operating a post hole auger off the loader!

The Kubota Grand series has a 6 speed HST. I would be hard pressed to go back to a 3 speed.

From the data online I believe the kioti weighs somewhere around 600lbs more than the kubota, does that seem right? Around how much will the kubota weigh once rear tires filled? I was really hoping to get the kioti just because I like the size better, and I think my wife would like it as well, but these are some good points brought up. Should the b2601 even be a consideration? I guess my biggest fear is to wish I had bought a bigger tractor. I just want something very capable in this size and price range.

Don't get me wrong the Kioti 2510 is a awesome tractor. It is just that you are not comparing apples to apples. The Kubota is a larger tractor with more lift capacity and I don't remember the weights off hand but I thought the Kubota was heaver in this comparison. In my mind between these 2 there isn't anything you can do with the 2510 that the 2650 can not do and have more capacity should the need arise. Deciding on size can be difficult, when I am faced with this I take price out of the equation at first. Then I list my predicted tasks. Generally it will fall in between 2 sizes of tractor. Then look at if in the near future (1-3 years)you will have less or smaller tasks or access limitations requiring smaller machine. If not then go to the larger size. As far as brand, as long as it is a repeatable one choose the one that you are the most comfortable on. So it's best to sit on them and take them for a test drive and operate the loader and hitch if poss. Price? Well it's Cheeper to get it right the first time but not the end of the world if you don't.

Kubota list a range of weights for their tractor. If you go by the heaviest the two tractors weigh almost the same. The Kubota loader lifts more. image-2645602348.jpg image-506198699.jpg image-1313022993.jpg image-353053078.jpg

I Was looking at that to after further research I think that is the difference from a cab model to no cab so I guess the Kioti is around 500 or so pounds heaver. I do like a heavier tractor and the ck 2510 is a nice combo of weight and power. But if the slightly larger frame and lift of the Kubota are beneficial then adding enough weight ballast shouldn't be a problem. They are both nice size tractors.

Many people talk of built in weight which can be a disadvantage at times. Excavating work demands a good(well balanced) heavier weight then normal yard chores. we have seen many people go to big on base tractor and then change to lighter machines after the property has settled in to there desires.
Weight in itself that is not needed for jobs that you are carrying all the time is well like my pot gut, yep it might be a plus for opening some doors on it's own but after that it is a drag. Any doctor would tell you it's excess baggage and will tire you out quicker and on a tractor it just up's the rate of fuel used and will slow you down on hills more.
For your own property of five acres Kubota's BX could handle it and I'd also say that depending on what you are getting into on lawn work make sure you can get the right machines for either tractor to be productive.

I have a b2650 for 7 acres between my 5 and dad's 2, for the most part a bx would've been fine, better when it came time to clear a spot in the garage. Have no regrets with the b for my yard. Have not filled my tires yet but did make a ballast barrel with 700 ish pounds of cement for when I need more weight. It is my mower as well. Had a riding mower that I sold because it was more enjoyable using the b to mow. Only about 40 more days that I will question my choice, that's everytime I send in the payment. It has made the outdoor work much more enjoyable and my back way less achy

The thing that catches my attention in that video is the operators platform.
The fuel tank is behind the drivers seat. It looks like the folks driving this ck2510 are really huge, or there is not a lot of room for the operator. The fellow in the video looks really cramped.:2cents:

Thanks for the replies. I definitely do not want a sub compact. If the 2510 vs 2650 is not an apples to apples, then what other tractors should I be looking at compared to the 2510? Is the 2650 that much bigger than the kioti? Anyone have a picture of a side by side? Stats on paper is sometimes hard to tell. One thing I didn't mention is using it to drag a horse arena. Would either one pull a drag fairly easy? Sorry, I know these are probably newbie questions, but that's what I am :)

I think that the 2510 and 2650 are comparable, 2510 a little smaller but heavier. Performance stats are pretty similiar. 2510 is 9nly a 2 speed, but I'm probably in low 90% of the time on the 2650. Yard too bumpy for much faster, and when I do get time to use the tractor I'm in no hurry to get done. That may change with winter coming but I can dress warm enough then. The 2650 is closer to the old ck30 size I believe but no were as heavy.

One nice thing The 2650 falls in between 2 Kioti models. 1)the ck2510 and the larger ck30. The ck 30 are no longer in production due to the new EPA tier 4 emissions. but there are still some available. It has a base weight of around 3000# and is a larger frame size. The replacement for the ck 30 is the ck3510 it is about the same size as the ck 30 and is a little lighter with more hp. However it has substantially more lift capacity on the front loader. Personally I would want the ck 30 or the 3510 but needs may not be the same as yours. My current tractor is almost the same as a ck30 and I have tested out a b2650. I could have got by with the 2650 and it is nice but I prefer the slightly larger and much heaver ck 30. I like them both one is just a little bigger. So you have a lot of options. They should all preform about the same in this class just the larger ones will do most of it a little faster. Go check them all out and tell us what you think. I would think that you could get a deal on a ck 30 now that they are no longer in production and if you liked the feel of the 2510 you will probably also like the ck 30.

The ck 30 and 35 tier 3 were getting pretty scarce by August when I was looking, almost non existent in ohio

How much more speed is gained with Mid range as opposed to doing the same work in Low range? 1-2 mph? not even sure if thats how you figure it. also i'm going to try and go this weekend to the kioti dealer and check out the 2510. I test drove a used CK20 a year or so ago and liked it, but is had a few little issues reason i didn't buy. Ck30 or 35 would be nice, but I would really like to buy new, and don't want to get into dpf and all that jazz of tier 4

A properly ballasted HST doesn't have the power to do any serious dirt moving work in medium. If you are just talking about travel speed difference, there should be published specs on that. Either tractor should be able to pull a drag, but slowly. They won't be able to pull the drag nearly as fast as the 50 hp tractors you usually see doing it.
