CK2610 HST vs CK3510H

Forget everything the books try to tell you about buying horsepower per foot as far as implements are concerned. I fought for 15 years with a 50 inch tiller on a 26hp tractor because I bought what was recommended by the dealer. When I finally got into a 6 foot tiller behind the same machine the difference was so nice being able to cover my tracks, power was NOT an issue at all. Same goes with a 6 foot rear finish mower. Just go for it even with the 26 hp version

All due respect but a Finish Mower and a Rotary cutter are NOT the same thing.

The CK2610 is listed as 24.5 HP Engine and 21.7 HP at the PTO. That's not enough HP to spin a rotary cutter heavy enough to cut 1-1/2" material if it's 6 feet wide. Rototiller or finish mower (due to the nature of what you're cutting) might be just fine at 5 or 6 foot on the 2610 but not a rotary cutter.

Also - I guess the forum software automatically hyperlinks the term "quick hitch" to Pat's Easy Change system - which are nice also; but this is the one I bought from Harbor Freight.

$550 sounds like a great price for 2 rear remotes.

322026 - CK25/35 1st Remote Kit - $348.00 (plus tax and shipping if applicable)
322027 - CK25/35 2nd Remate Kit - $466.00 (plus tax and shipping if applicable)

I wonder if the new CK10 series stuff is different or if I should check around some more.

Mine does have a light on the dash for the parking brake.

Does the light actually come on when you have the parking brake on? I have the light on the dash that illuminates when I start the machine but it doesn't come on otherwise...

It's unlikely that a CK2610 would even be able to lift a 6 foot brush hog without some serious weight on the front (if the FEL is not on the machine).

Mine is very very light in the front. I do use the 6 foot finish mower as a tool to blow out small trees up to 2 inches. I'm very hard on the thing, again no issue with power on the gear machine, HST might be a different story.

I was thinking of probably going with a 5 foot bush hog and tiller. All the trails I have right now are pretty much just wider than my atv so I think the 5 foot width is a good idea for me. I want to go with the industrial tires so another question I have is the 55" width stated on the Kioti website with Ag tires or industrial tires?

Also, with this new tier 4 stuff does the DPF need to be replaced after a certain amount of hours or does that regeneration keep it cleaned out for life? I ask this because I kind of have my eye on a Mahindra 1533 HST too and the big selling point they try to make with their new engines is they don't have a DPF, so one never needs to be replaced, which they say can be quite costly.

Hey Ryan - With industrial tires mine is actually ~63" at it's widest. Tires themselves are about 16" wide.

Buy the 6 foot tiller you won't be sorry. Most likely more saleable down the road also.

Well I guess 5 foot implements are out of the question then if it's 63" wide with industrial tires. Definitely want to have my wheel tracks covered, especially for tilling.

I can't insert insert an image from my phone but I have a 5' Woods and it covers the tracks perfectly. The widest part of the tires is 63" but the treads angle in at the point of contact with the ground and it's probably exactly 60"

I got a couple more quotes today. The closest dealer to me came in at $17,900 for the CK3510H with FEL. Additional options (Installed Prices): Telescopic lower link kit $250, 4 port rear remote $500. Now that gets the juices flowing a little more than the first quote I received of $21,500 without any options added yet. I also received a quote of $20,650 for a Mahindra 1533 HST with FEL.
