Regarding your second picture...Before each plowing session, I coat the inside of the bucket with cooking spray. Substantially reduces snow sticking. Nice pics.

cooking spray ? BRILLIANT !!!!

great idea

I've used the cooking spray before. It works great. Just buy your own can. My wife let me have it when she needed it, for cooking, and the can was empty. :D
I've also used silicone spray which works pretty good but doesn't seem to last as long.

I also prefer the cooking spray, by summer the bucket is well seasoned. I can park the tractor in the sun, fry an egg in the bucket & it doesn't stick.....sometimes the egg is a little gritty but it doesn't stick! :D Though I must admit, it is a little hard to flip the egg with the toothbar on.

Don, great response.:)
Will the cooking spray attract mice and rats?? I would hate to have the wires chewed on the tractor, we had that happen to my wife's car once.

I would say, spray it 'on' the bucket, 'not on' the wires and you should'nt have a problem. ;) (Just don't use the cheese flavored spray.) If anything, the rodents will wear their teeth down to the gums, knawing on the bucket.

Honestly, I don't really know if cooking spray would attract mice and/or rats.

Mornin Oleozz,
I have some Stoner Urethane Mold Release that I use in my snowblower. The bucket on my MF 1040 is too darned rusted to make any difference at all. We use the mold release at work on the silicon molds we build . It comes in a conventional rattlecan spray nozzle. That stuff is slippery !

That mold release spray might be better if it adheres well and doesn't wear off fast. I checked the site you posted but where do you buy the stuff? Sometimes things like that are only available to companies or in quantity and not retail to people. Any ideas where to get some to try?

There is an auto body and paint supply store near me and I can get some really nice stuff that normally repair shops only have. The owner doesn't mind retail. He said money is money and doesn't mind the little extra bookwork for over the counter sales.

Tap Plastics has a mold release.. not the same brand.

Thanks for the tip Scotty. If our Jan and Feb are like our December has been I won't need anything for the loader. I keep reading all the posts and great pics from the Denver folks and my hope is the white stuff stays out their way.:)
