Thanks Dirtnut, im curious if you lifted the steel off a flat bed truck or a flat bed trailer.. I too have moved slabs of concrete 8 ' x 20" x 12", im guessing were about 12 cu ft of concrete at 150lbs per ft, probably in the 1800 lb area. That was only a foot off the ground or so with 3 people on my box blade, just to move it out of my barn area when i had a fire. With my 1000lb backhoe on the back, ive lifted 10 - 12 foot by 24 in oak logs on equipment trailers with little effort. The logger said the logs were in the 1500-1600 lb range. Its not something i like to haul over long distances though. I actually talked to my dealer and hes going to let me know when a used pair of forks come in, new ones are around 900, used he says are about half that. Im just going to use them for moving pellet pallets and if i have to manually off load 500lbs , so be it..

it was a flat bed truck about 4.5'-5' high picked it off from the side.

That is actually quite impressive off a flat bed truck, i will be lifting off a 18 ft dove tail equipment trailer, so its not nearly as high for lift off.
