Long time coming but i did end up getting the fuel shut off cable ordered from the older version of the tractor and installed the cable to the fuel shut off. Now to stop the tractor i pull the fuel shut off cable all the way and while holding off shut the key off. This seems to eliminate the slamming of the rack by the releasing solenoid/spring combination, you have to make sure it is completely closed or you will still feel the rack slam close on the cable while holding it, then once the key is off push the cable back in. So far so good. Knock on wood
