"The DK45S is like a blonde in a group of brunetts"

Be careful not to scare him away from the 45s due to the extremely high maintenance. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif You'll have to look underneath to be sure someone didn't simply apply the bodywork of a 45s to a 35 undercarriage /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

My brunette wife will enjoy that....

I have no Kioti dealers near me. Can anyone give me a ballpark for the dk35 and dk45 tractors? Thanks

ELEE, welcome to the Kioti forum and TBN.
I have to agree, the DK35 sounds like the minimum tractor to go with, but if the choice is only between the 30 and the 45, then the DK45S is the tractor. 10-15 acres of hogging will go much faster with a larger mower, and the 30 just isn't going to pull a large enough mower to make the job go quickly.

Yes, you could get it done with the 30, but you won't have as much time for other endeavors.

Good luck in your hunting.

Is that supposed to be a compliment or does the DK45S use a slower computer chip?

BTW, Saw a great tee shirt yesterday (on a blonde):
"Speak slowly, I'm a real blonde"

Go with the Dk45, the CK30 is a great tractor, but will only run a 5 foot medium duty brushhog, the dk45 will run a 7ft, making your work time considerably shorter..

I'd like to throw in my two cents worth.Bigger is not necessarily always better. Before purchasing my CK30 Gear,I agonized over buying the new DK45S.It's certainly a beautiful machine. My needs are similar to the original poster.I settled on the CK30 because beyond cash outlay a smaller tractor can do many tasks that a larger tractor cannot do because of space restrictions and still do the tasks required of it that the large tractor can do albeit requiring more time. When I finally settled on my purchase I had run across an interesting sizing formula that said for a single machine to come closest to your all round needs it should be oversized for 10-20% of your tasks, just right for 70% and undersized for 10%.I believe this formula may be valid.Having said all of this I sure do like the DK45S. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif EldonC

Sounds like a very reasonable formula to me. There is a tendency on TBN to listen uncritically to the little testosterone voice in the back of our heads (or maybe it's from someplace a bit lower). That can lead to acceptance of the "more horsepower is better" logic without considering the whole package. Sometimes more horsepower is better but if 90% of the time you have enough and you can use the savings from buying the smaller tractor to add a backhoe or other extra implement from the start you can actually have a more versatile, fuel efficient and capable machine overall.

I agree, it's been amazing to read about some of the big machines that people are buying for 10 to 20 acres. Normally with more hp comes a bigger tractor and you lose some of the manuverability that you have in the smaller compacts. You really have to give some thought as to what your tractor is going to be used for "most" of the time and buy accordingly.

Hi,
I like the formula also. I have found through experience that 70 to 80% of my customers have never owned a tractor, let alone run one. In watching these customers try out the tractor and run it around their properties I have found that very few actually utilize the full capacity of their purchase. It seems that they are either too timid or just don't use it enough to realize it's full potential. So more often than not, I think the dealers need to get on the tractor and put it through it's paces with regard to what the customer is looking to do with the machine. If the customer is satisfied that they bought the right machine and the dealer can save them a few dollars, it will only help the dealer and the brand in the long run.
Go try the tractor and really push it... or ask the dealer to do it if you are uncomfortable. They will usually do much more than you think.
Just my thoughts.
