CK30HST bad ignition switch

The quality of my rear remote plugs is way way better than those at the loader hookup. The ones at the loader were bad (dry rotted) from the very start. This is a poor reflection on Kioti. Why skimp on something so visible and inexpensive? It is the only part on the tractor that I have found to be of consciously selected inferior materials. They look like (and probably are) cheap chinese imports. Mine lasted about 1 minute in the brush. They shouldn't even waste the time to put them on. Just Horrible! I'm thinking of removing them entirely because they are an embarressment to me and my machine.

As for the rear remote covers that Rick Wallace installed, they look like they will last for many many years - heavy duty and of different, black material (less susceptible to UV deterioration).

I'm being careful with the key cover. While it's of fair material, better than the loader's, it won't last forever. Eventually it's gonna become brittle and split,. This too could be of better material (like my rear remotes). But, at least it is acceptable, unlike the loader plugs.

Does everyone know why tires are black when rubber is naturally light? Carbon is added to absorb sunlight so the rubber does not. One would think the materials guys would practice this with all such polymer products subjected to a lot of UV exposure. I guess carbon cost more. Incidentally, my remote covers on my JD are black, 13 years old, and show no signs of deterioration.

Highbeam,

Try graphite the next time you want to lube your key switch. But, don't use too much.

I'm not squirting anything in that keyhole unless it fails on me. I thought I ruined something big when my tach just died like that. Maybe a little lube on the key itself would properly lube the tubmlers without affecting the contacts. Maybe some dielectric grease.

Dielectric grease works good if you can get it in where it is needed. Powder graphite is the best thing for just about any lock.

Whats surprising is I didn't lube it or even sneeze at it.
RAVE: Jon DePratt of DePratt Equipment is sending me a warranty switch if i send the bum one back. I did not even buy the rig there being in WA state and not knowing of him then.
My local dealer may have come through eventually but said they would "get back to me in a couple days" which I didn't find encouraging. Jon was right there- right now...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for your parts/ tractor purchases!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
