I added to the factory grill guard with some 1/8th in perforated steel plate, ground all the welds and primered, painted Chevy orange and clearcoated.
The metal angles with the contour down low- it was cut/ welded and ground there to have a "bodyline"---I dont have a sheet metal bender.
I dont forrage brush so I didn't have the need to cover up the headlghts.
The factory threw me a curve---ONE of the supplied nuts was LEFT HAND THREAD!!! The bolt was a little wierd on the end threads so it took me a spell to figure this out, I was filing threads thinking I'd get a mesh...lol
Found a good nut in the wee town of Packwood, WA

You did a great job. Lights would be a lot less expensive to replace than the stuff you did protect! Very smooth piece.

So were those dimensions I posted usefull, or did you have to measure your own?

It is DupliColor from the local Schucks Chevy orange---not the real hi temp exhaust stuff but just engine color--can get the sku#off the can from work if u want
I also hang up my stuff to paint but before that, prep it like autobody---start with coarse and work to progressivley finer grit paper. Prime with a build primer which is available in a rattle can, sand that w/ 320. Wipe with pre paint grease remover quart can from autobody supply to avoid fisheyes. Use a tackcloth to remove lint, etc. But thats me and I understand "its just a tractor..."
If you paint a turd-- you just get a painted turd...it's all in the prep. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Got a new plasma cutter---now I'm Mr. Metalcrafter...lol

sounds like a ton of cash!
I'd need more real estate to house all the equipment.
