When I last emailed you I was having problems with my new hst getting power from the engine to the tires. Little push/pull, no tire spin. I put 15 hours on the tractor and it did not get any better so I called the dealer. He put it up against a small stump in the grass and it would not spin 2 wheels or four.

Kioti and the dealer checked the pressures at the valves and said they were correct, however the dealer was not pleased.

He worked out a great deal for me to exchange for a new shuttle. What a tractor! I have had JD, MF, Yanmar, and Kubota and this Kioti is awesome.

The shuttle will push, pull, lift or spin and die trying. The hst would just sit there. The dealer told me that the hst's were great lawn tractors but if I wanted a tractor I needed the shuttle. I should have listened!!

There is no comparison between the two. The shuttle will outwork the hst 4/1. I have talked with other hst owners at the dealer ship and they too have had hst issues.

Not trying to knot anyone up but wish that I could have read this on the post before I purchased.

This can't be a normal condition. I don't own a Kioti, I own a Mahindra, but my 2810HST is a real bull. I have no hydro power problems. I think the 2810 & the CK30 are similar size, hp is close. I have no idea what kind of hydro the Kioti uses but if it were that much weaker than the competition how could they be selling so many?

my previous jd2210 and my current b3030 (both hst) will spin all four when they finally lose traction. your experience does't seem normal to me. iv'e had shuttle before, liked it but prefer the hst.

Hello, the hst and gear are going to perform differently. My ck30 hst is unstoppable, put it in low in it goes through about anything. I pull a 6 ft boxblade through the heaviest clay completely full and doenst even hesitate. As far as loader work, the hst is a pleasure to use. People often confuse the hst as a gas pedal when the power is in using the right gear and applying the hand throttle. Both versions have their advantages. For an example i spent today grading the crest of a steep ravine using my boxblade, which required me backing up to the edge very cautiously and dropping the box over the edge and clearing the overhang. Id never condsider that using a manual shuttle, too dangerous in that the hst pedal control is instantanious providing a much sharper response time. As far as the mahindra 2810, the engine is made by kioti, (Daedong). Im not sure if it uses the same transmission though. Im not sure what the problem with your hst was, im glad you found the shuttle to be more pleasing to your needs. As far as Kioti goes, they are very capable machines.

I would do it with gear. If you did it with a hydro it can be done with gear, no problem...

So yours unfortunately had a problem. That doesn't prove that a working HST is weak and shouldn't even be considered.
Im sure your dealer was able to let you compare a working one??
The HST is ultra convenient, but theres a lemon in the pile of anything mechanical that is manufactured.

I'm curious as to what "deal" your dealer worked out.
"Deal" implies that it costs you something. You had a defective rig with HST which costs about $900-1000 more than a gear unit to start with---did he charge you more for the gear in the end?

I would assimilate your issue to a person buying a manual tranny vehicle that has a defect of jumping out of gear during use and then using that rationale to state auto trannies are the only way to go.

If your dealer couldn't find a resolve for the HST itself through either himself or his network, it's a testament to his ability and stick-tuitiveness.
If your dealer truly said "A Kioti CK30HST is only good for a lawn mower" I would opine he is a few french fries short of a Happy Meal.

I love mine and can shove its bucket into huge piles of fill dirt hard enough to bog the motor, spin the tires, and generally have all sorts of fun. I haven't heard this complaint before this, here, now, today.

Sounds like something was wrong, mine is a tank.

Agreed, that unit was flawed. But I will also acknowledge that there will be no way to convince the poster of that. Mine spins em all or kills the engine trying.

another unfortunate part of this is the belief that HST is inferior to a gear drive. I also disagree with that My CK30HST is unstoppable

How about the name of that dealer? I just want to make sure I steer clear of that place. To say the HST is a just a lawn mower??? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The CK30HST and CK30SS are identical tractors except for the tranny, (the HST is a few pounds heavier), and if operated correctly the HST will spin the tires and/or bog the engine. (I'm speaking from personal experience). As stated a thousand times before, it's a preference thing. Glad your happy with your shuttle, but that dealer or whoever you talked to made a dumb statement. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
