CK30HST VS CK30 SHUTTLE

You say Kioti AND the dealer checked the pressures. Just who from Kioti came there and did that? A lot of dealers are not quite up on the procedure for checking pressures. If it's not done just so, the reading will easily be off.

I've used CK30HSTs, and they're far from being "a good lawnmower only."

Your unit had a problem, no question.

I'm glad your happy with the deal and you now have a gear. I have a CK30hst and it pushes or pulls great. As others said, I can make the engine bog in medium range, so something must be working right. I pulled out approx. 30 feet of half inch steel cable buried in the ground over a foot deep. I hooked on to the cable with a cable clamp and then attached a piece of 1 inch dia. rope to it and the draw bar. Started in low range at about 2000 rpm. It was coming out of the ground, slicing the ground like a knife just went through it. I came to a spot where the tractor didn't want to pull any more so I just run it up to 2500 rpm. Out came the rest of the cable attached to a 5 foot long piece of 2 inch angle. I'd say it was pulling just fine and you would too if you saw my destroyed yard from the cable being ripped out.
Something had to be wrong with yours because mine is no lawn tractor. I had driven a gear and didn't see the night and day difference as you did with yours.

Just to add abit. I agree with the other posters. I love my CK30HST and respect its power. Last month I had a delivery truck - type with about 20 flat bed that couldn't make it up the incline in my unfinished driveway after dropping my 3000 gallon water tank - seems the volcanic clay is more like grease with right amount of water. Anyway, just hooked a chain to his front end and my CK30HST easily pulled him to the top. Unfortunately, he still couldn't get sufficient traction so I gingerly nosed my bucket against rear end of truck and effortless pushed him out the gate.
A couple days later, my plumber's 4x4 F150 was in the same drive, rained most of the day. When he tried to leave, all he could do was spin - again, my CK30HST to the rescue. Have to admit, I was (still am) pretty dang proud of the little beast.

I have the CK30HST and it will spin all 4 tires on a dry concrete slab when in low gear and up against a large stump; No problem with power to the wheels. I worked it real hard moving an old shed slab; 6.5' x 10' x 4-5" thick; I estimate about 3600 lbs. Spun all four tires then too when the slab dug in. I ended up ramping it up onto cut telephone pole pieces to use as rollers. I could not lift it or break it and ended up calling in the big guns to haul it away.
I am very happy with the performance/power.

It must have been a defect and the dealer did not catch it.

I was pulling two '76 Mercedes 450SEL's hooked together thru the woods when I only got about 15 feet before the CK30HST started chattering and spinning various wheels.

I checked and one of the cars was in PARK!! No trouble after that.

By the way, the HST has three ranges /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and it is a great lawnmower ............(among many other things) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
