Just wonder if anybody else has installed a block heater on their tractors I noticed I don't have one on mine or at least can't find it and I looked all over. Just kinda funny to buy a piece of equipment in Canada that doesn't have a block heater and I've run a lot of equipment over the years. lol

I don't think block heaters are as common as they once were. Some tractors have an electric heater in the intake manifold to heat the air while others rely on the glow plugs. I think compression is higher than it used to be as well. I'm sure if you wanted to install a block heater you could. I just don't know if it's necessary. Ask around your area.

Block heaters in Canada are as common as snowflakes in the winter, glow plugs and intake heaters aren't enough in our weather and do nothing to heat the block or even heat the oil so its not like tar upon starting.

This has been on my mind as well. I live in New Brunswick which is not nearly as cold as Manitoba. Last winter I did not have trouble starting but my unheated garage did not get below -18°C (0°F). After reading difficulties with frost plug heater installations I think I would do the hose heater as mentioned above. That is what my VW had and it worked well.
If you do some searching on TBN you will find discussions where owners have glued heater pads on oil pans and hydraulic housings with great success. While my tractor starts in the cold there is a noticeable sluggishness to my hydraulic controls until they warmed up. I am considering one of these as well.

I installed a kioti block heater and don't get near the temps you will. For the price and ease of install, I feel it will be well worth it for the very cold days we get. Just clamped the radiator hoses, knocked out a freeze plug, and installed the block heater per directions.

I have a 2610, dealer installed a block heater on it when I bought it. I don't usually plug it in unless it is below 10 degrees and then only for an hour, makes a big difference. I'm in Northern Maine

Yeah winter came here in a real hurry -20's (celsius) for windchill yesterday but except for an unusual early October snow storm which long ago melted away. We haven't gotten a substantial amount of snow yet just a dusting. But winter is certainly here but hopefully with this cold and all the frost the lakes and streams will freeze up good and solid so my friends and I can go Ice Road Quadding.

I have the factory block heater on my CK3510 and the plug is tucked up under the dash near the clutch pedal. I use it when it gets down around 0 F, as mentioned above, you only need an hour or so and your ready to go.
