Class I, ClassII, ClassIII, Cut, Utility..?????

Could Somebody educate me on these?? I bought a TC 30 and Know it is Compact tractor, but don't know Class 1,2,3?? What is the break point fom Compact to Utility?? I was told when looking for a tractor for bushhogging with 60", stall cleaning and occ other task on my 33 acre farm/Hills..That to plan on a 30 ish hp tractor... So Far so good .. I don't have enough flat areas to get in the hay making business.. Should I have Gone to Larger Tractor???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Class I - TC18, TC21, TC24
Class II - TC25 (no longer made), TC29, TC30, TC33
Class III - TC35, TC40, TC45

Above Class III are utility.

Your TC30 will certainly do all the things you listed for it to do. For 33 acres, it may just take a little longer than a larger tractor.
The TC30 is kinda listed all by itself on the New Holland site, but doesn't have a lot of extras on it as say, a TC29D would. The TC29D would, in my mind, be closest to yours in size/power. The TC30 was brought out to just be a basic workhorse of a tractor costing a little less to get the same 30HP than a TC29D. After driving one, it seemed to me like it was on a totally different frame than a TC29D. They made it to just get out and do some work /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The cut-off on NH's site between Compact and Utility is 45-48HP.

I've heard the TC48 and TC55 called "Class IV" as well as "utility". I think someone also referred to the subcompact (the TZ's) as "Class .5". I think New Holland is the only manufacturer the has the "class" labels.

Yes there is the Class IV TC48 &TC55. They list those as a Utililty Boomer. And of course the Class .5. Then they list the 60's and up under the AG tractors.
