Class III Loader Control

Yesterday I broke my second loader handle on my TC45D. Both times the steel shaft that supports the plastic handle has broken at the lower screw that attaches the two. Frustrating! Luckily I am still under warranty. Because I did not feel like waiting for the parts I took the handle to a welder friend of mine and he welded it up and added extra weld to the concave back of the shaft for strength.

Anybody else had this problem, or do I just not know my own strength?

I also have a TC45D. Have used FEL a great deal in last 18 months, but have never had the problem you mention. Any chance the screw was torqued way too tight at factory (though that would mean dealer did the same thing)?

JT, here is a link to several threads dealing with this "piece-o-c**P" engineering. I finally just gave up after two joysticks with the realization that until this piece is redesigned, my "fix" is better than what comes from the factory./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

That is a problem that is being looked into by New Holland engineering. We keep several of them instock because they break so often.

I broke mine at 350 hours, still under warranty so the dealer paid. I heard everone is breaking them so next time(s) I'm going to demand the dealer replace mine free of charge. This part is way under designed.
