Sprayer Clean-up of sprayer

I just finished my first time spraying 2-4D on my hay field. As I don't think I'll be using it again until next year what is the best way to clean it, and prepare it for storage? It is a 55 gal plastic tank with a PTO pump.
I have three different sets of instructions from the sprayer, pump, and the weed killer; all are vague and different...

I have a 15 gal on my ATV that I use to spray Roundup, weed killer, and insecticides. I just flush it several times with clean water. After the last flush, I put in a little water run clean water thru the pump and spray heads until empty. Of course, mine I can put in a couple gallons of water and pick it up and slosh the water around in it to clean the inside. They do make agents specifically to clean them, but I have never used them.

A good, thorough flushing with water should get it clean, but then you'll probably need to put either oil or antifreeze in the pump to prevent corrosion while it's stored.

What about using some Nutrisol mix on last rinse. The local Tractor Parts-Western Wear Store had some. I dunno exactly what all it does for the system. The store clerk said to use it. bjr

TSC or any good farm supply store will have Nutrisol (or competing brands) 2,4-D isn't quite as bad, but glyphosate will "bond" with plastic, making it difficult to merely flush away with water.

I also like to fill the pump with diesel fuel to prevent corrosion. (Again, glyphosate (round-up) is the more harmfull, being "salt-based")
