Cleaning 55 gallon drum

Around here the bears would have them licked clean in a heartbeat...!

Yeah, or he could take the barrels to his bee keeper friend, the bees would clean it clean.

...or just wash it like he did, honey is water soluble.

They do make thin and thick 55gal metal drums. I have one of each. Thin one is a 0w20 engine oil drum. The thicker one is a VP racing fuel drum. It prob weighs 20lbs more empty. I keep my fuel in the VP one.

Don't do the same thing my buddy did years ago... wanted to turn 55 gallon drum into trash barrel so he opens it up sniffs inside thinks it doesn't have very strong smell and fires up the oxy acetylene torch and starts cutting .........bang ........... So as he is picking himself up off the driveway and rubbing the sand and gravel out of his eyes he thinks to himself well okay that probably burned off any fumes and fires the torch up again and starts cutting and .......bang.......off it goes again......next time he filled it with water......

How much does the thicker ones weigh?

No idea. The only one i have is 1/3 full of diesel. Side by side theres a noticeable dif in weight.
