Another shot, had to leave to go up front. Might as well take a quick picture. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, this backhoe tends to have and do a lot of things I'm not too fond of. I've pointed things out to my boss's husband but he seems not to care. Because of his not caring, and short cuts on fixing things, I was one day scooping some soil in the back and my front right wheel fell off. I wasn't too happy not only because I was out of service, but I knew he would blame me for his mistake. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Sure enough, he did but I stood my ground. Smoke issues, fact that it's old, no work lights and other stuff drives me nuts. I like 580C's and D's better. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

it might smoke for a reason too. our old 70 580, has had the injectors set up a little higher, so she'd get more fuel. giving you a little more power, and a little more lube to the cylinders and valves..

that must be a 74+ 580?

I believe it's a '79, but not sure. Here are more pics. of another backhoe I used today. I dug out logs with the other hoe and then piled them with this guy.

I rented a Case 480LL for a week and they brought out the oldest landscape loader they had, it smokes worse then an nicotine addict but its a decent machine. Stupid me for not asking for 4x4, the LL barely has enough power getting its self out of clay and forget box blading. hah anyway

here's a pic of our '70 580 CK sittin in my driveway, today at lunch time.
she's a little rough looking, but a little paint will soon cure that.

that's a laurn tractor cab, converted to work on the hoe (her cab was shot)

this machine was bought 4 years ago, and it hadn't run since 1984, now we've put over 200 hours on it. after lunch i had it out doing a little work for a customer of ours

Nice, the standard hoe that I was using in the begining has a hole in one of the hoe hoses. So the hoe is out of use till it's fixed. The 580B's do, do the job but I find I get frustrated with them real quick just because they are old, and things happen. I personally wouldn't go older than a 580C, that's what I'm going to buy once it's time, not only cuz I like that model, but they're affordable too. Anyway, it's nice because you can actually find some that have side panels for the engine to keep it clean and free of damaging debris. You also don't have all these hoses exposed to dangers such as what our machines do...Oh well, I don't have to worry about fixing it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
