Yup, they hyped it starting last Wednesday then said we're getting nothing over the weekend and now they're saying 2-5" for us. They can't get tomorrow straight but want us to believe they can determine 20-30 years from now. :confused2:

I think that today may have been the beginning of the end of this winter. It will take a while yet the snowbanks are shrinking and the sap is starting to run. The most obvious sign though, was the motorcyclist I saw riding through Lincoln yesterday. The first biker of the year is a better harbinger of spring than seeing the first robin.

As the OP , this thread was continuation of another thread which drew a correlation between weather and climate change. There are many experts in this field, a significant portion discredited through deception, so no science is quoted in this post. Reverting to common sense, just the recent proliferation of nor'easter storms is reminiscent of mid-60's patterns, and the bizarre cold temps this winter is hardly indicative of global warming. Climate may very well encompass a cycle of weather patterns that define climate. Stating the two are mutuality exclusive defies logic and insultes the intelligence of all but the non-cerebral masses. There is a reason why the science is corrupt, the" for sale sign" indicitive of the disease. It nears March end, I'm trudging through snow, real concept of SPRING remains elusive. Human influence in the harsh weather of the 60's plays no greater a role today. Opinion, A K A science, is 19.95 @ barns and noble. And with this comment, may this thread simply disappear, ENTIRELY.

We are due for some rain on Friday. I still have a lot of snow on the roof and 10+ inches on the ground. Out my window I can see where my low boy septic tank was placed. It always is the first place to thaw. I am starting to see the corner!
We have some snowdrops poking up along the path to the house. My wife said the daffodils were pokin up in bare spots.

It is still freezing every night and thawing during the day. Heard a pileated woodpecker a couple of days ago and our cardinal a species that shifted north with the warmer climate) is singing every morning! The juncos are still around and my wife is still feeding the crows and chickadees.

We had an eagle fly over the lower garden 30' up in the air. Not the first time....... looking for a cat or chicken!

As a kid in the Berkshires of western Mass. I kept arrival records. Redwing blackbirds were the most reliable. Today, 200-300 miles further north in Maine - I could almost use my same Berkshire records for Hudson. It is warmer here than it used to be.

People are reporting that the woodcock have arrived in NH. They need a soft ground - snow free. So I hope they hold off a bit.

You only have 10 inches/ Lucky you! Yesterday I noticed that a corner of my picnic table was starting to peek up through the snow. Looking at the forecast though, the snow is going to start dropping fast.

I always get a kick from watching the pileated's flying. If they were driving a car they would get pulled over for erratic driving. It seems like they will run into a tree, yet they never do.
