Sounds like an excellent - high tech. way to find issues in advance. I have heard that my brother-in-law does this on his long haul 18 wheeler. His oil is drained and tested like you describe. Kind of a forensic <sp> study.

UPDATE!

It was NOT the bleed valve - it was loose but was not the cause. It simply leaked some fuel. A condensation drenched fuel filter was the real culprit. I always filter my fuel through a strainer but it can't stop water. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
