Before spending the money on new assembly I would definitely check out the mothers or 3m product sold on Amazon. The reviews speak for themselves. I was skeptical and tried it and made a huge difference on my duramax. I used the mothers product that had 4 different sanding discs and a buffer that went on my cordless drill. Worked great.

Thanks for all the replies. I've used a couple of the kits, that have one product to use to buff and another for a clear coat. They definitely work, but in my experience, I haven't found one that last for more than a few weeks. I thought I could just replace the lenses, but from what you guys said they're weather sealed, and that makes sense. My mechanic told me that rockauto.com is the cheapest place to buy new assemblies, so I guess I'll do a search and see of anyone has a better price for the whole assembly, if not, I'll buy 2 assemblies from rockauto.com. My mechanic told me they're really easy to install.

Just be sure to check the head light alignment, BEFORE (old) and AFTER (new) you replace the whole assembly. Some don't come aligned at all. Then you think your good to go after you install them only to find out your not at the worst possible time.

I tried buffing my lense with my 7" grinder. I wasn't paying attention and I ate up a bit of lense. I bought two headlight assembles with lamps on Amazon pretty cheaply. They work well and look good.

The TYC headlight assemblies I bought from RockAuto(Acura MDX) and Amazon(F150). Both aligned perfectly and fit as OEM. A good point made on ensuring what you get exactly fits OEM specs.

After using one of the kits and only lasting a few weeks or so, I bought new assemblies from Rockauto for my '03 GMC Sierra. Cost was somewhere around $70. Wish I had bought them sooner. Made a big difference.

Great link. Good video on installation for 'my truck' as well. What happened to the $82.95 price; why your $150?

I also bought the taillights since they looked like crap too.

I wonder why you guys are only getting a couple weeks of clarity when wet sanding your headlights...I had great success and still going strong on mine.
Maybe the headlight housings are different on a Chevy Duramax or something? Who knows...good luck! I put some new Cibie headlights and an H13 to H4 conversion in my wrangler and aiming headlights is an extremely important project not to be taken lightly. Please look at Daniel Sterns web site on proper aiming of headlights procedure. Do not want to blind oncoming traffic.... Good luck!
