OK, all you Club4310 members. Who is still around? I see Kyle from Margaritaville, sometime Pepper from the SSEnterprise heck even _RaT_ (wht we ever let HIM in i'll never know!)

This is open (as all Club4310 stuff was) to 4300 owners. we even put up with 4210,4410, guys and girls. Actually, we even let _RaT_ in, so just about anybody stu- er - smart enough to see a good value and send in their dues can join up!

Anyway, what are the top things that you now like about the 10/00/55/whatever series machines? What keeps you from 'upgrading'?
What would push you over the edge to get a new machine?

So I will start off.

I still love that way things work on my TEN. Almost every 'improvement' on the TWENTY series still has me wondering 'why'.

I like the controls on the fender.
I never had an issue with the tilt wheel, or parking brake.
Nothing on mine is stamped "Made in China",
My DSCV is Dual - not 1+1.
Mine has skid plates.

I really don't think that I would go TWENTY at all. I might be inclined to go for a THIRTY if there was a significant incentive, but for now I am thrilled with the TEN.

Mike,

I'm still here and working my 4310. I chose the life time membership option when I sent in my dues (remember?). I can't think of any thing that would motivate me to upgrade. Well maybe quick change tires that would allow you to swap between R3's and R4's in under 10 minutes without the use of any tools. The only other thing would be some type of problem with a major component such as the engine or hydro transmission. If it came up that the electronics started to get flakey and unreliable., I would look for something else.

Short of a serious problem, I'm in for the long haul. After all, I kept my previous tractor, JD 755, for 16 years. I traded up to get a little bigger tractor with more hydraulic capacity and FEL lift. The 4310 is "too" big for some things and just right for most other things so I can't see going any bigger.

Jeff

Mike, if you were a big old windbag like me you'd be looking a bigger tractor. But as it is, you can't even get your posts up to 4310! :D Your wife is probably sad too ;)

Mike, hurry and go buy some lottery tickets....4310 inside joke.

OK, well, having done what I had just finished doing (replacing rear wheel seals). I can report a few things now that I have actually seen my machine with a bare rear end....

Most of the big bearings inside the rear axle housing are Koyo from Japan. Good stuff. But the outer bearing had "Russia" etched into it. Not so sure. The rock shaft control unit had "Turkey" on it. I did have to make 2 different punches to do the job so at least I know those are Made in USA!!!

Anyway, I still love my tractor. I still owe 1 more year and 2 months on it. I won't be trying to sink it next to the pond if I can help it. It performs flawlessly and I still wish I had a backhoe and an AC/cab. I know that you can't have both at the same time...

Here's a tip I finally figured out about 4310 itchy arm syndrome. I've noticed over the last 2 years that when I use the tractor(usually mowing) I always seem to get itchy on the bottom of my arms. I've always attributed it to whatever weeds I was cutting down. I must admit that until now, my tractor has never, never had a day in the shade. I used to try and keep it covered but it became infested with little tan spiders which turned out to be a horror story when I started finding black widows. (I hope y'all arent thinking I'm on any halucinogenic medications because I'm not but that doesn't mean I might not actually need them). Anyway, the fender grab handles and compartment lid are apparently molded with glass fiber reinforced plastic. The sun has taken its toll on the black plastic and now it has a grayish hue to it. Everytime I brush my arm against it, I get that fresh rubbed fiberglass into the soft underskin of your arm feeling. OUCH. Out comes some wet/dry sandpaper and after a bit of elbow grease they are smooth again. End of story. Tractor now has SHADE!!!

Mike you are the heart and soul (and president) of club 4310, I just can't seem to find your address so I can send in my dues.

Mike, I forgot, when you get to 4310, you need to change your screen name to leave it there.
