Hello All,
I loaned my tractor (Jinma 304) to a neighbor and now the clutch has only about 1/8" before the clutch is engaged as you push on the clutch pedal.
Shouldn't I have about an inch? if so, where do I make the adjustment and which way?
Thanks all in advance,
Rick

If you have a FEL, you will have to remove it to gain access to the bell housing access holes where the loader subframe is attached. This is the only way to see the gap between clutch fingers and throwout bearing. I believe there is a procedure with pics over on Johns Jinma site. Be sure you throughly understand how the 2 stage clutch works before you start making adjustments.

If he wasn't using it that long and the clutch operation/freeplay has changed drastically in that short ammount of time, either he was riding that clutch like a carnival pony, or something has started to vibrate loose and has caused you to loose all your freeplay.

EDIT: Just re-read your initial post where you said 304... What I typed above may or may not apply to your tractor/clutch as I am not specifically familliar with it.

Hello Ron, Thanks for your reply, Isn't there a mechanical adjustment outside near the actual clutch pedal, it used to have about an inch of free play and now it is down to about an eigth of an inch
Thanks for your help,
Rick

Yeah, but you've got to watch what's going on inside the bellhousing when you make that adjustment. But didn't you get an owner's manual with that 304? Clutch adjustment procedures are in every Chinese tractor manual I've ever seen.

And it's very important that there is no contact between the clutch fingers and the face of the throwout bearing. Very very close, but not touching. That alone may give you the recommended inch in the pedal.

There is an outside linkage adjustment, but that is the LAST thing you should adjust after inspecting the rest of the assembly. My clutch pedal travel has not changed that I can tell in the 200 hours since I initially inspected it when the tractor was new. The fact that yours has changed in such a short time should be setting off alarm bells that something is wrong/worked loose.

Thanks Greg and Ron,
I do not have a quick disconnect loader, it is a AC-3 (I think an Accutech???, not sure) anyway, I have to remove the entire loader? Wowsers'
Thanks, and let me know of any shortcuts

Not sure if you're loader is like the china ZL20 loader, the ARM can come off on one side, this is how I have done the clutch adj. see JohnS's site for pics of my adjustment job. noting that I needed more freeplay between PTO and Main clutch and had to adjust both just recently using same procedures as on his web site.

Marks procedure was the one I was refering to, I think the only thing he didn't picture in it was the throwout bearing to clutch finger/lever clearance, but I imagine that would be a tough pic to capture:) That specification should be in your manual.

I have some pictures and the specs if you are interested in them email me at action-equipcharter.net and I will be glad to send it to you. After the inner clutch adjustment you want the pedal to have 1" of movement. Let me know if I can help.
