I just noticed this weekend after I got my tractorback from having the loader and rear remotes installed. I hear a squeaking or squaling sound when releasing the clutch. It's not real loud and doesn't seem to do it everytime or the first several times I release the clutch.

Should I be concerned?

If it was me I would check it out. Go over all the linkage connection points and places where the rods may be rubbing. Apply lube. Hopefully that is all it is.

Sounds like lubrication to me too, but at least contact the dealer who installed the loader to get it documented...just in case.

What do you mean by lubrication? Too Much.... I did grease the throw out bearing recently.... hard to tell if I put too much in or not enough.

I'm thinking the linkage. Suggest you run it for a week or two and see if the noise changes (increases or decreases).

Linkage? Is this something that I can check myself?

I called the dealer about and he said that he has heard a noise when releasing the clutch on some of the tractors on the lot recently. He said it could be the changing weather causing condensation in the clutch making it squeal.

It's warm today and I was moving some dirt and noticed again. It doesn't do it at first but starts and gets a little louder when using it alot.

Doesn't seem to do it in 1st gear at all.

Just to eliminate one possibility, get under your tractor with a can of spray lubricant (I like Fluid Film) and lube the clutch pedal pivot (I'm assuming your clutch pedal is not the suspended from above type). Follow what ever rods, pivots, etc (the "linkage") you see. Spray all pivots. BTW, have a flashlight with you...might need it. Any kind of luck, you'll be able to reach right up to the transmission. DO NOT spray in to any inspection holes you see in the transmission housing!

Then get on your tractor and pump the clutch to work that lubricant in.

This may or may not eliminate the "squeak" you hear. If it doesn't, at least you've eliminated one possible cause.

If the linkage made noise wouldn't it do so by just pushing it in and letting out on it without the tractor on?

It only squeals while releasing the clutch when in gear. If it's running but not in gear then it doesn't squeal while degressing the clutch.

Good point...
Hmmmmmm...could be the springs on the pressure plate or something brushing up against the clutch, pressure plate. Either of those would likely require splitting the tractor ($$$).
Has it gotten any worse since you first posted?
