Clutch problem TN75

Ok so yesterday I went to back my TN75 into the warm shop and when I pushed in the Clutch pedal it went right to the floor. Any Ideas? Help!

had it to happen 3 times i think. the clutch pedal is fastened to the clutch with a cable. the cable is broken. one minute its fine and next minute gone. no warning.

A broken cable is certainly a prime possibility. Some TN's with mechanical shuttle use a rod type linkage; if so that may have failed in some form or fashion.

update: This is the cab model. I pulled the rubber floor up thinking there was a panel I could remove and look down to see if I could see anything. There is no panel. Then I recognized I was gonna have to lie in the snow. I did find a hole in the floor that allowed me to tie a wire to the clutch pedal and pull it from below. I also noticed that the previous owner had rigged up some kind of contraction to hook a very strong spring onto the lever that attaches to the exterior of the clutch housing. When I pull the wire that pulls the clutch pedal down.... everything on the exterior of the clutch housing seems to work fine. I checked the repair and parts manuals that I have and cannot find a diagram showing the connection from the cable that runs from the top of the clutch pedal to the entire mechanism outside of the clutch housing. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

One of my fond memories as a NH service tech is changing a clutch cable on a TN75D in a parking lot in upstate NY on a day when the high temp was 2*F. Run the cable through the hole in the cab, connect on the pedal, connect underneath. Adjust pedal height.

Get rid of the added spring. This clutch linkage design has the release bearing running against the clutch fingers all the time. Not ideal but the cable won't last long fighting an extra spring AND the pressure plate too.

Further update... the cable appears to be intact.

If the pedal height was more or less correct and the pedal, cable and cross shaft arm are intact you will need to split the tractor to find out whether the release bearing or pressure plate fingers (or both) have failed.
