Clutch question

I have a L3830 with direct transmission. The manual says to lock the clutch in the depressed (disengaged) position for storage. More than once I warmed the tractor with the clutch depressed ( I forgot to release it) and once I run a three TPI wood splitter with the clutch in that position for one hour. Did I do any damage to the clutch? Sorry if the question is stupid but I'm not too into engines in spite of my efforts. Thanks.

Sevilla,

The only thing you did was give the throwout bearing a good run in. I doubt you did any long term wear to it but I would not make a habit of using the clutch latch when doing stationary work.

BTW - the latch is there to keep the disc from sticking to the flywheel and pressure plate faces when stored for a long while.
