I probably sound like a broken record here, but my little piece of advice is to make a backup copy of your JD manual on CD. I got mine directly from the dealer and the CD-ROM was burned rather than stamped. The jury is still out on the longevity of burned CD media.

Another option I used was to just copy the pdf file from the CD directly to my local hard drive. That way I have the manual accessible all the time without having to find the CD.

That's what I did with my CD manual; I copied it to the hard drive, then I embarked on a fill-in project of putting in all the cross reference links, bookmarks, and sequential non-chapter related page numbers that Deere didn't do; but should have. It took me a while to do this as I'd work on a chapter at a time; but it was well worth the effort as navigating the manual on the PC is easier now. Then I printed out a copy for the garage that I can get greasy.

Same here, I went straight to the JD shop manual. I still have my CD for the 4310.
