Kubota B7510
Visited my second Kubota dealer today. Much better experience than the first one. Felt like this one might like to have my business. But the price still seems high: $12,900 for a B7510 and full-freight for implements (for instance, $2800 for a front-mount snowblower).

I happily drive an '88 F150 that on a good day might bring $3000. Maybe. And I don't want anything else. So the thought of spending $18,000 (including a blower and a chipper)...well, that seems like an awful lot of money.

I've got a 900 foot driveway, get 100 inches of snow in an average year, and I've got ten acres of hilly woods I'd like to keep clean. I've been here for ten years and have never managed to take care of the woods properly; can't get a chipper down there because it's too hilly. Can't get a truck in there to haul things out for the same reason. One year I hauled about 5 cord of wood several hundred feet and up a thirty foot hill. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Will somebody pleas convince me to buy this **** thing before I lose my nerve? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One other question: both dealers I've been to didn't indicate that they'd move much on the price. In your opinion, is that just for show? Do they all do it that way, then come down anyway?

Thanks,
Jim

I don't know about "cold feet".

If you want to cheap out, go buy a Homier or whatever Northern sells.

If you want the name brand whether Deere, Kubota, NH, IH or whatever, expect to pay for it. Life ain't a free ride. Sometimes, the price of admission is more than expected. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nope...

You have got to convince yourself. Only you know what you can afford and what is important to you in the long run.

Wish it was simpler...but a dollar to one guy is a penny to another...so in the end...we got to do it ourselves... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That being said...you are going to love having a tractor if keeping up your property is important to you.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had the same type of situation with my local Kubots dealer . I had owned Kubota in the past and love the tractor ,but the dealer had a "take it or leave it attitude on the price . Said if I bought a Kubota from anyone else and he found out , he would go after the other dealer for infringing on his area . I finally said enough! and started looking at other makes . I now own a Kioti which I love ,but still get ticked about the way I was treated by my local Kubota dealer . I still think Kubota is a great tractor too .

Is this dealer for real?? Hasn't he hear that the Constitution of the United States of America included the State where both he and you reside? You are free to purchase any thing any where your heart desires without interference or reprisals from him. Personally, I think that I would have purchased a Kubota elsewhere just to aggravate him and then rubbed his nose in it every time I could.

It is a lot of money. I know been there-done that. But, I've never regretted it for one minute.
The older I get the more I agree with the old axiom "you can't take it with you".
Good luck!

Hi y'all...new guy here.
I went to look at a BX23 the other day...and yes it's a lot of money.
Here's how I look at it:
Life is a once around too short not to proposition...money is only a social medium we try to measure our worth by...it's a false standard...our real worth is measured by what we can accomplish with our time and talent, and how we choose to direct that...sitting on a pile of money jealously guarding, fear of the unknown, lustfully hording, ect...can't be measured against being in motion producing something that will keep us from lying on our death beds regretting "this was short...I should have..." while the kids are in the next room divying up the what's left...they'll likely piss it away on beer anyway. You can't take it with you.

Get up off your wallet and live. Get out in the fresh air and make some mud while you can...in the long run, it doesn't ethicly matter a twit what you do, but rather it's the wake you leave that's your true measure.

On this and other forums, guys are enjoying owning and share that positive expression by participating...and it's rare to see "This machine sucks...I made the biggest mistake of my life"...more likely to see "the quality of my life has elevated, and I get joy from yada yada yada..."

You can sit on your money and get arthritis, or you can get productive and smiley...and get the same arthritis.

me? I'm trying to find a way to have that BX23 on my property so I can play in the mud and give the old lady her dream nest.
What else is life for?

The dealer said he'd go after the other dealer, not bigal. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Still, the dealer has a bad attitude and I would not buy from him.

Maybe in order to get a franchise, the dealer gets a territory that's exclusive to him? Don't know.
