First I'll say I've got little experience with hydrostatic drives.
I've got a Cub 7264 and in very cold temps. (below 30) the hydraulic system really "squeels" when first started.
After warm up it quiets considerably.
Would this be "normal" with hydro's ?
I can will/ post on the CC forum but wanted a "global" opinion.

Hi. When the temps are below freezing, I usually start mine, set all the brakes, lower the FEL bucket into the ground (with snowplow in winter), and let it run at a high idle (in my case about 1/3 throttle) for about 5 minutes or so. In that short amount of time, the hydraulics usually warm up considerably. I use that time to shovel the porch steps and the small stuff that the tractor is too large for. Then I hop on, mash the throttle and plow away with no squealing. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Good idea. My loader is really slow until the system warms up. It is good practice to let diesels run for a couple of minutes before you move them. The manual says something about maintaining the temperature during cold weather. You should keep the throttle around 1500 RPMs to keep it warm.
