RobS, weather is a very peculiar thing, ain't it? I think we've already had more freezing weather (at night only of course) this winter than we had either of the last two winters, and maybe both combined. The last two summers, we've had the grasshopper plagues and a lot of folks say we need a good cold winter to reduce the insect population in general, while others say that really doesn't make much difference. And while the worst mosquitos I've ever seen were in northern Canada and Alaska where it was pretty cool, we're only bothered by them in the late spring and early summer; haven't seen one since July (maybe because of the drought?). We also had the smallest crop of crickets, mud daubers, and wasps this year that we've had in several years.
And no snow, but I think I will go out on the patio and brush the dust off the chairs and have a cool one./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif
