Cold Night

 / Cold Night #11
Bird -- Had another frozen pipe last night. The hot water run to my first floor bathroom sink was a little too close to the outside wall and froze solid. But that wonderful PEX tubing just swelled up and maintained its integrity! Put a heat lamp in the cabinet and all is well now.

I have no experience at all with the PEX, but it sure sounds good to me, since I have had some experience with thawing the old fashioned galvanized pipe and replacing broken copper and PVC after freezing./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Thomas,
Okay I'll stay indoors all day on the second. Or do you mean Punxatawney Phil??

My daughter's birthday is Feb 3rd. For years I have been telling her she was supposed to be born on Feb 2nd but she stuck her head out on the 2nd, saw her shadow and went back in. Alas she fails to see the humor in that.

Phil..if you got any connection to shorten winter please do so. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thomas,
No I don't have any more control of the weather than you.

Besides I don't think I would shorten it at all. I've only been in your great state of NH for 4 years. I love the winters. Love the snow. Back in MD we got snow but it almost always completetly melted between storms. Here as you know it just keeps adding up. Weatherman says Derry got 57 inches so far and I think every single one of those inches is still out there. Sure makes my yard and house look beautiful.

I may change my tune in a few more years but for now I like it.

Phil

The ones I really feel sorry for are folks who have frozen water pipes. That was always my biggest concern with cold weather.

Thanks for the sympathy.

Thawed the pipe last night, made it rain in the garage! Plumber still hasn't shown up. Wife took the day off work to meet him (I had important meeting in AM).

She is a very dedicated teacher & actaully went in at 6am to fill out her sub plans so she could be home to meet him. He had better show up today or he will experience the wrath of Mrs. Dewey. She's libel to give him detention/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Nice photo. How about some more of the elevated walk to the garage/barn. I guess you can walk over without getting in the snow.
