I'm thinking of you guys in the Midwest - East who are faced with record cold temps. The stratosphere is dumping right in your laps, and it's cold up there in outer space.

Here's hoping your propane evaporates, your pipes don't freeze, and your car will start. The weather this year is insane. 118 degrees in Australia, and 50 below in Minnesota.

Hang in there. Don't get frostbit. Hope your animals make it.

Mother Nature has been off her rocker this winter. We've actually been having an unseasonably warm (for us, lol) winter this year. Very little snow fall this year, and temps way above normal. So tomorrow, the temp is supposed to be -20 F, which is actually about right for us this time of year.

We'll be ok here, tractor is plugged in to a timer, both our vehicles are gasoline engines, and have good batteries, full propane tanks at the house, and we're feeding supplements to the neighbor's horses (one is quite old and needs looking after).

Hope everyone else is set up ok, and makes it through "just another winter".

Us on the south shore of da BIG lake are cool as well. We're just above zero today but that will be falling. That's cold for us! We got cool about 3 weeks ago and snow has been falling continually ever since. We might be over 150" now which is near normal. Yesterday I noted a few Algoma boats where still plying the water in lower lakes. Now that's a cool job!

No where close to 150” of snow in central Lower Michigan, but historic cold.
Tomorrow’s wind chills are expected to be close to -35 below zero. Geothermal is having a tough time keeping up but with a fire in the wood stove, we’re more than comfortable.
First winter in 47 years we have not had horses or livestock on the farm so no worries about frozen water this year.

-40 windchill expected here in Northern Indiana. Cold weather preparations were on going since Friday. We believe we are ready, but time will tell. Generator passed it's maintenance run and is in a warmish shop.

This is supposed to be a once in a life time cold..... we shall see.

Crazy how cold it's supposed to be up North, but down here in my part of Texas, we're having a very mild winter. Last year was also really nice, but the year before we got pretty cold with 8F being the coldest that I've ever experienced in my life!!! Overall, when they average out the temps for the year, we very rarely break any records that where mostly set during the 1930's

Yesterday morning.

We're missing the cold weather on the West Coast. At 6am here it is 46F outside. I haven't lived in cold climates but I'm guessing that when it goes that far below zero all sorts of problems and issues emerge ... hope you get through it all safely!

Thanks for including me (us) in your thoughts Mate. Last Friday my thermometer recorded 40.7C (in the shade)... and that's in N.E. Tassie. T'was an oven out there and I bravely hid in the house drinking G&Ts to bolster my strength.

There are some major bushfires occurring in the Midlands and South-West of the State... we may soon be calling on North American & European firefighters to assist. It's a reciprocal thing as we send crews to your Summer fires.

'They' (Bureau of Many Guesses) are calling for +31C today for St Helens, which will probably mean around 35C for me.

I'm sorry to hear about your fires Wag, hang in there buddy. I hope you get all the help you need. Brush/grass fires are very, very scary.

Are you directly affected by the bushfires? Nasty beasts!
We only have fire breathing dragons in wet Wales. Not much to worry about!
