Cold weather Mt573

I've owned this LS MT573 over 2yrs 410hrs. It's definitely not a cold weather tractor. Have a block heater and it's not enough at 20degrees I have to use a 20lb lp heater to warm the oil pan. The cab doesn't warm up enough to keep the ice off windshield(snow blowing). I don't recommend this tractor if you need it to move snow. The crank case breather hoses freeze and builds pressure in the crank case it and blows the oil fill cap off.

Like the old days would blocking the radiator help any?

Is the MT573 a power shuttle?
If so a para-synthetic hytran oil in the transmission/hydraulic reservoir may help as well as a synthetic motor oil.
Have you replaced the thermostat?
I also cover the radiator on the tractors in the winter.

Is the block heater working properly??

I would suspect a kinked heater hose or maybe a partially closed heater hose valve somewhere maybe a faulty temp controler. Cab should get warmer than that. The cab heater in the cab of my XR3140Hwill run me out of the cab when plowing. I would suspect an engine running that cold would set off emissions codes at minimum, not too rule out a failing thermostat though.

I run a semi-synthetic engine oil and a high grade tractor/hydraulic fluid chevron THF 1000 in the 3140H for trans/hyd fliud and no block heater. When I had to plow on a single didgit days, wich I try to avoid plowing on, the LS has always started when the heat coil light turns off.
