Arthur , here is a photo of the Thermostart set up on my YM155D . It is only a 2 cylinder but you can see the basic setup.

thanx to all who have replied... i appreciate it. so, as ernie suggested, the thermo would be in the intake hose.... i took that aprt, nothing there... seems that whoever rebuilt this tractor threaded a bolt/cap where the thermo plug would be. with that said, i dont know if the existing cap/plug will accomodate a thermo plug. so, in short, i dont have TS on my tractor...

i have to move the tractor tomorrow. was intending to use my truck to pull it, but the truck died this afternoon!! so, a friend is suggesting to wire a battery powered hair dryer to the intake manifold... were going to rig this up after a few beers tonight!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

dont know if ill buy a replacement ts or not...

if i didnt have bad luck, i'd have none at all
