I have purchased three model 40 41 Cole planters. They are in great shape I want to mount them onto a cultivator frame and tuen them into a two row planter and take the third one and used for a fertilizer hoper. I have two hole corn plates four hole corn plates and four hole pea plates and a surgoum plate. I have already checked each one out and they drop corn pretty good but I believe that I need to change the cogwheel that turns the seed plates. I have a 12 tooth wheel and on the seed plates it says there are 10 teeth 9 teeth and 7 teeth I sure would like to get my hands on some. Does any one know anything about these planters or of any substitue parts that would work as good.

Ok for any one keeping up with this post, I have gotten two planter mounted to a bar and have planted 6 rows of corn so far. I am going to rebuild them with some new metal after I finish planting but they seem to work real well. They drop 2 -3 seed every 9-14 inches apart I guess since they are nearly 90 years old they arent as precise but that good enouigh for a garden, or food plots.

Please post some more photos when you get it all mounted up. I've been thinking of doing something similar myself but haven't found a decent price on the old planters.
