Hi guys need some help are the cole planters a good choise for planting pumpkins as opposed to j.d. 71 planter which gives less seed damage thanks

I just purchased a used Cole MX 12 planter. I have yet to use it. I'll be trying it on Saturday. This one came with one pumpkin and one corn plate. The fellow I purchased it from said he planted around an acre of pumpkins and and acre of corn for a number of years. It also came with different gears to adjust seed spacing within the rows.
