Nice pics. Almost all of the corn is off here. We have had a long dry spell and the guys have been going to beat the band. I am always impressed at how much they get off one field. Truck after truck of corn leaving day + night. It's very impressive.

It went well this year , nice and early combined/Stalks burned and cultivated in mid october before snow for a change . Yeild was below average due to another crazy wet summer but at least quality is good this year and price is looking promising for once.

Yes headers cut nice and low to burn trash just like stubble burning

Less trash to go through cultivators , Dryer soil in spring for earlier planting and bare soil gets more heat units giving better emergence and more growth . all crop residue is burned except flax .

Very different soil up here, very heavy black clay that is not practical to plow for time/cost and the fact that it seems to ruin the structure of the soil and makes land wet for years after .
2 passes with a deep tiller in the fall at 3-4 inches deep and let -35 do the rest over winter then seed straight in the spring . You have to leave this land firm .
