I`ll bet money that kubota`s are running leaner than most diesel engines out there. Efficiently burned off fuel does smell sweeter.
If you think about it, diesels that are turned up, pushin more fuel, gonna stink more like raw unburnt diesel fuel.
I`m sure most of you have been behind a diesel on the highway when they`re rollin coal...STINKS..!

I prefer the smell of any diesel versus any gas engine.

Ever follow a car that is floored going up a hill? Smells like sulfur and it burns your eyes and throat. Should be illegal. There are certain stretches of the NYS thruway I have to turn off my A/C or heat because the smell from the gas cars are rank.

I find that BOTH are pretty foul when following any of them up any amount of hills. And here in NY, we gots lots of them hills...lol. I usually just pass them as quick as i can. And when i cant, i reach down to the climate control touch screen and just tap the REC button on. That will shut the outside air from coming into the cab of my truck until i can get clear of the stinkies ahead of me. I also installed a carbon cabin filter in my heater box, the filter helps quite a bit with foul smells.
