Ignore the password entry and click on the implement selection guide. Once you get to the implements, pick power tillers.

( Reverse rotation means the tines rotate away from the tractor's forward motion instead of towards the forward motion. They use the usual tractor's PTO. Proponents feel the reverse rotation pulls the tiller into the ground, pulverizes the soil better, and throws clumps of soil forward so they can be "chewed" again.

/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Oh I see said the blind man. This makes sense and looks as it would work much better. (By Laws of Physics) Thanks for enlightening me to this.

The width of my tractor is 60" to 62" with the tires like they are. With a 27HP and a 22HP PTO... what width tiller should I go with? Here is a pic of the rear of my tractor.

Chains stretch. I had a Caroni tiller and had to tighten the chain 5 times through the first set of tines

The First Choice has automatic chain tensioners and this eleminates the need to stop and adjust. Of course, the Larger roto tillers for larger tractors are all Gear Drive with support parts available nationwide--Ken Sweet

Auto chain adjusters do not stop chains from stretching. I know from my days when I was ordering parts for the said tillers. Other than tines, chains & auto chain adjusters are the fastest moving parts for chain drive tillers.

CCM gives the smaller HP tractors the advantages that other MFG's reserve for the high-end tillers.

This is not our experience. We have sold HUNDREDS of First Choice machines and in 5 years, I can remember selling 1 replacement chain and no auto tensioners. Maybe we do a better job of matching up our customers' specific needs to the machine (tractor) they have--Ken Sweet

I have 8-12 inches of loamy soil, with denser clay soil underneath. The soil hasn't been turned for 4 years. Would you recommend plowing the first year, with subsequent years being tilled, or do you think that a heavy-duty tiller would handle this field right from the get-go?

I believe I would roto till and if you need deep penetration at some point in time, go with a subsoiler to break any possible hardpan--Ken Sweet
