Results with using reclaimed asphalt depend on the amount of asphalt that has been retained and the type of aggravate used for the original mix.

Sounds almost like a pig in a poke. Could vary from load to load. I would also be concerned if reclaimed asphalt were used then decide to go back to gravel.

recycled would be better than crushed for hills as the main advantage is that water does not wash the crushed and cause ruts.

How steep are your hills.

Reclaimed asphalt is goo stuff, and can be mixed with crusher run and gravel. I am cheap and have used all types of material.

1-1/2 works in high erosion areas, 3/4 stone looks nice. chrusher run looks good if of high quality, "Ledge pack" works well but has quarry overburden mixed in so it is cheaper but dies not give that 'stone look"

I use quarry dust or quarry tailing. Where I buy, i the Quarry dust has some small stone and packs well, but some plants produce waste that is pure dust and does not work well for driveways.

I buy loads by the dump trailer, usually 34-35 tons per load.

Thank you for sharing your experience.. Most people have experience with gravel/stone, but fewer have ventured into reclaimed products. I am really glad to hear that trying them does not create serious problems if I change at a later date. Do you use reclaimed asphalt or concrete for potholes. Any special techniques.
