The Kubota appears to fall between the x500 and x700 Deere's. Haven't tried out the Kubota steering but it would be good to try driving it up a steep slope in a sharp turn to see how well it works out.
Just from the specs the Kubota is lighter and I consider that a good thing for mowing. The new Kubota adjustable seat looks very good too.
The Deere is about 30% faster, 400 lbs heavier, electro hydraulic pto clutch, more hp and hdap 26 12 12 tires.
Gets down to personal preference imo, I bought the Deere but think the Kubota unit looks very good too.

The Deere x749 is what I have and I meant 30% faster, this series has a top speed of 8.5mph. It won't be as fast as your 930A but it will handle the other maintenance tasks to keep up a lawn.

If he already has a ZTR, why is he considering a riding tractor?

It depends on how much lawn you have to mow. I had a 60" deck for many years and then bought a new JD tractor with a 54" deck to eventually replace my 420 with the 60" deck. After mowing a few times with the new tractor and the 54" deck I sold it because everything just seemed to be so slow with the smaller deck. It seemed like it took half again as long to mow. Stick with the biggest deck on whatever you get.
